Hershey Bears defenseman Bryan Helmer is scheduled to enter the AHL Chat Room to answer fans’ questions on Thursday, January 15th.

Helmer is in his 15th AHL season and his first in Hershey, and he will serve as captain for the Canadian team at the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications later this month in Worcester, Mass.
Helmer, 36, ranks 15th in AHL history with 881 career games played for seven teams, including a stint in Worcester with the IceCats in 1998-99 and 1999-2000.
This season, Helmer has registered 19 assists and a plus-15 rating in 33 games with Hershey and has also chipped in three helpers in eight National Hockey League games with the parent Washington Capitals.
Helmer, 36, won a Calder Cup championship with Albany in 1995 and has been named both a First Team AHL All-Star (1998) and a Second Team All-Star (2006).
