Blue Jackets ink St. Denis

The Columbus Blue Jackets, parent club of the AHL’s Springfield Falcons, have signed defenseman Frederic St. Denis to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2013-14 season.

St. Denis, 27, has spent the past five seasons with the Montreal Canadiens organization. He recorded seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 63 games with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs in 2012-13.

In 263 career AHL contests, St. Denis has notched 19 goals and 69 assists for 88 points, along with a plus-27 rating. He participated in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2012.

St. Denis has played 17 career NHL games, all with the Canadiens in 2011-12, registering one goal and two assists.
