Defenseman Sheldon Brookbank spoiled the River Rats comeback scoring the game-winning goal in overtime and an assist in the Admirals’ 4-3 win at Albany on Friday.
Rich Peverley recorded three assists while Jason Guerriero, Cal O’Reilly and Kelsey Wilson tallied for the Admirals, who scored all four goals on the power play. Netminder Karl Goehring stopped 32 of 35 shots for his fourth win of the year.
Keith Aucoin scored a goal and an assist for his third-straight multiple-point game for the River Rats, while teammates Ben Guite and defenseman Mark Flood also tallied for Albany.
GRAND RAPIDS 4, ROCHESTER 2
Matt Ellis tallied two goals and an assist and goaltender Jimmy Howard made 26 saves in the Griffins 4-2 win at home against Rochester, who has lost two of their first three games on their current six game road trip.
Kip Miller added two assists while teammates Brock Radunske and Darryl Bootland each recorded a goal for Grand Rapids.
Anthony Stewart and Mark Mancari tallied both goals in the Amerks loss.
PEORIA 5, IOWA 3
Ryan Ramsay recorded two goals and an assist in the Rivermen’s 5-3 win at home against the Iowa Stars.
Michal Birner scored a goal and an assist while Peter Sejna and Tomas Mojzis each had two assists for the Rivermen who are winners of their last three games.
Mike Green had a goal and an assist and Dan Hacker and Marius Holtet each scored in the Stars loss.
OMAHA 3, SAN ANTONIO 1
David Moss and defenseman Richie Regehr had a goal and an assist and Andrei Taratukhin also registered two helpers in the Knights’ 3-1 win at San Antonio.
The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights capitalized on two first-period power-play goals from Moss and Kris Chucko to give Omaha a 2-0 lead while netmider Curtis McElhinney stopped 23 of 24 shots in the contest.
Pascal Rheaume scored the lone goal for the Rampage.
BINGHAMTON 4, SYRACUSE 2
Ty Conklin’s 40 save effort for the Crunch wasn’t enough as four different players tallied for the B-Sens in a 4-2 win at home against Syracuse.
Ryan Vesce and Grant Potulny scored the first two goals of the contest for the Senators, while Josh Hennessy and Danny Bois provided the other two goals for Binghamton and goaltender Jeff Glass made 17 saves for the win.
Joe Motzko, who has scored in seven of his last eight games, and Mark Hartigan provided the goals for Syracuse in the losing effort.
MANITOBA 3, PHILADELPHIA 1
Three unanswered goals from the Moose, combined with Wade Flaherty’s 28 saves led Manitoba to a 3-1 win over the Phantoms at the Wachovia Spectrum.
Brad Moran registered three points (1g, 2a) while Jason Jaffray and defenseman Yannick Tremblay each had a goal and an assist for Manitoba, who have won four of their last five games and earned nine out of a possible ten points.
Gino Pisellini recorded the lone Philadelphia goal, his first since turning professional.
PROVIDENCE 1, LOWELL 0
Jordan Sigalet stopped all 23 shots faced for his first shutout of the season as the P-Bruins defeated the Lowell Devils 1-0 at home.
Jonathan Sigalet scored the only goal in the contest, giving Providence the victory and snapping a three-game losing streak for the Bruins while Kris Versteeg and David Krejci registered assists in the victory.
Frank Doyle made 34 saves in a losing effort for the Devils.
WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON 4, HERSHEY 1
Defenseman Ryan Lannon had two assists and was a plus-3 as 11 different players recorded point for the Penguins in their 4-1 win over the defending Calder Cup Champions.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton got the first four goals of the contest from Daniel Carcillo, Kurtis McLean, Jonathan Filewich and Dennis Bonvie, while netminder Jeff Deslauriers stopped 22 of 23 shots.
Dave Steckel recorded the only Bears’ goal of the night while Eric Fehr had his 16-game scoring streak snapped.
WORCESTER 3, NORFOLK 1
Mathieu Darche recorded two assists while the Sharks went 2-for-5 on the power play in a 3-1 victory over the Norfolk Admirals at Norfolk Scope Arena.
Rookie netminder Thomas Greiss stopped 37 of 38 shots for the Sharks while Craig Valette and Riley Armstrong and Graham Mink each tallied for Worcester.
Norfolk’s lone goal came from rookie right wing Adam Berti.
TORONTO 3, HAMILTON 2
The Marlies found a way to get past Rbk X-Pulse/Goaltender of the Month of November, Jaroslav Halak, using a goal and an assist from Kris Newbury and tallies from Alex Foster and Jaime Sifers.
Jean-Francois Racine had 26 saves in the contest for the Marlies, who scored two of their three goals on the power play.
Mikhail Grabovski had a goal and an assist while teammate Andrei Kostitsyn scored a goal in the tilt, making it four out of five games that he has registered a goal for the Bulldogs.
SPRINGFIELD 3, MONARCHS 2 (OT)
Justin Keller recorded an assist and the game-winning goal in overtime as the Falcons defeated the Monarchs 3-2 at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
In a back-and-forth contest in which Springfield’s Norm Milley, and Eric Healey scored the only two goals for Springfield.
Manchester back-up goaltender Jason LaBarbera stopped 30 of 33 shots while Falcons’ netminder Jonathan Boutin made 33 saves for his second win of the year.
