Canucks add Stuart, Hamill

The Vancouver Canucks, National Hockey League affiliate of the AHL’s Utica Comets, have signed left wing Colin Stuart, center Zach Hamill and right wing Dale Weise.

Stuart, 31, played for Iserlohn in Germany in 2012-13, collecting nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 45 games.

In eight AHL seasons from 2004-12, Stuart appeared in 474 regular-season games with Chicago, Abbotsford, Portland and Rochester, tallying 97 goals and 107 assists for 204 points. Stuart has also skated in 39 postseason games, notching five goals and eight assists for 13 points and winning a Calder Cup championship with the Wolves in 2008.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Rochester, Minn., has recorded 13 points (8g, 5a) in 56 National Hockey League games with Atlanta and Buffalo. He was originally selected by the Thrashers in the fifth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Hamill, 24, logged 72 games in the AHL between Hershey, San Antonio and Milwaukee in 2012-13, totaling 19 goals and 25 assists for 44 points.

In 328 career AHL games, Hamill, who played parts of five seasons (2007-12) with the Providence Bruins, has registered 63 goals and 120 assists for 183 points.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound native of Vancouver, B.C., was the eighth overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 20 NHL games with Boston, notching four assists.

Weise, 24, registered three goals and three assists in 40 games with Vancouver during the 2012-13 season, his second full year in the NHL. Weise has recorded seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 118 career NHL games with the Canucks and the New York Rangers.

A native of Winnipeg, Man., Weise has skated in 194 AHL games with Hartford/Connecticut, tallying 57 goals and 54 assists for 111 points.
