The Detroit Red Wings, parent club of the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins, on Friday agreed to terms on a two-year contract with free agent forward Matt Lorito and to one-year deals with forward Ben Street and goaltender Eddie Pasquale.
Lorito, 25, ranked sixth among AHL rookies in scoring with 54 points (18 goals, 36 assists) while appearing in 71 AHL games with the Albany Devils in 2015-16. Lorito led the Devils in assists and points and tied for second on the club with a plus-16 rating.
The native of Oakville, Ont., added three goals and four assists for seven points in 11 games during the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs.
Lorito played four seasons at Brown University before turning pro in the spring of 2015, when he joined Albany and finished the season with three goals and nine assists in 11 games.
Street, 29, has appeared in 293 career AHL games and 29 NHL contests. During the 2015-16 season, he compiled seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points in 15 games while serving as captain of the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage and logged a seven-game stint with the Colorado Avalanche.
Over the course of his six-year professional career, the 5-foot-11, 200-pound center has accumulated 98 goals and 139 assists for 237 points in 293 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Abbotsford, Lake Erie and San Antonio. Street participated in the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic.
In 29 NHL games with Calgary and Colorado, Street has recorded two assists.
Pasquale, 25, appeared in 30 AHL games with St. John’s in 2015-16, going 13-10-3 with a 2.62 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage.
Originally a fourth-round draft choice by Atlanta in 2009, Pasquale has a career record of 79-69-10 (2.63, .912) with 10 shutouts in 166 AHL appearances with St. John’s and Chicago and was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team in 2011-12.
