Ducks get Sgarbossa from Avs for Clark

The Colorado Avalanche, parent club of the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters, have acquired defenseman Mat Clark from the Anaheim Ducks, parent club of the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, in exchange for forward Mike Sgarbossa.

Sgarbossa, 22, has four goals and 19 assists for 23 points in 40 games with Lake Erie this season, his third pro campaign. An AHL All-Star as a rookie in 2012-13, Sgarbossa has 28 goals and 59 assists for 87 points in 146 career AHL contests, all with the Monsters.

Sgarbossa has totaled one assist in nine career NHL games with Colorado.

Clark, 24, has notched one goal and five assists for six points in 45 AHL games with Norfolk this season, as well as one assist in seven NHL games with Anaheim.

A second-round pick by the Ducks in 2009, Clark has skated in nine career NHL games for Anaheim. He has five goals and 41 assists for 46 points in 282 AHL contests with Norfolk, Syracuse and Manitoba.
