The Carolina Hurricanes, parent club of the AHL’s Albany River Rats, today announced that the team has signed forward Pat Dwyer to a two-year contract.
Dwyer, 23, completed his first full professional season in 2005-06, tallying 16 goals and 29 assists (45 points) and registering a plus-15 rating for the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.
The Great Falls, Mont., native ranked fifth among Wolves skaters in points, fifth in assists, and tied for third in plus/minus.
Originally selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round (116th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Dwyer made his professional hockey debut with Gwinnett (ECHL) late in the 2004-05 season after completing his collegiate career at Western Michigan University.
