The Toronto Maple Leafs have claimed forward Seth Griffith off waivers from the Boston Bruins.

Griffith, 23, is coming off a career year with the Providence Bruins, where he led the AHL in assists (53) and finished second in the league in points (77) while skating in just 57 games. Griffith, who also posted a plus-20 rating, was named a First Team AHL All-Star at right wing, and added one assist in four NHL games last season.

Entering his fourth pro season in 2016-17, Griffith has appeared in 165 career AHL games, totaling 56 goals and 102 assists for 158 points. He has also played 34 career contests in the NHL with Boston, recording six goals and five assists.

Griffith was originally a fifth-round draft choice by the Bruins in 2012.
