Today marks another historic day for Fraser Valley hockey fans as the official logo of the Abbotsford Heat AHL franchise team is unveiled.
"We are excited to unveil the logo to our community as they played such a key role in naming our team and in bringing the Heat to the Fraser Valley," said Tom Mauthe, President of the Abbotsford Heat. "Their support has been nothing short of outstanding and we are dedicated to providing our fans with the same amount of support as we enter our premier season."
The logo, developed by Abbotsford’s Domain7, has been anticipated by local fans for several months. Full-color images of the logo can be obtained from the new website www.abbotsfordheat.com, and jersey designs can be seen here.
"We wanted to capture the essence of hockey and position Abbotsford as a destination for world-class hockey in the logo and branding, and I think we were able to do that," said Abbotsford resident and lead designer, Stephen Bau, MGDC.
Jim Playfair, head coach of the Abbotsford Heat, adds, "The Heat brings pro hockey to Abbotsford and having the future NHL stars in our own backyard is something to be extremely excited about."
Highlighting the corporate breakfast event will be a speech by team owner and local businessman, Lane Sweeting and Q&A with coach Playfair. Attendees to this event will have an opportunity to meet the new president and head coach.
The season starts in October 2009. Seasons Tickets can be purchased at www.abbotsfordheat.com or by calling 1-877-452-HEAT.
