Hershey defeats B-Sens in Thanksgiving Day match-up

Five different players tallied for Hershey and Lawrence Nycholat recorded four assists as the Bears defeated the Binghamton Senators, 5-3, at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Thursday night.

The Bears jumped on the board early with two first period goals from Jonas Johansson and Matt Koalska, who had a goal and two assists in the contest.

Binghamton would storm back, scoring all three goals in the second frame to take a 3-2 lead heading into the third period. Jeff Heerema, who has scored in four of his last five games, had two goals while Andrew Ebbett provided the other tally for the Senators.

Alexandre Giroux extended his scoring streak to six games with an early third period goal while Louis Robitaille and Chad Wiseman scored 1:38 apart to give Hershey a 5-3 lead.

Frederic Cassivi made 30 saves for Bears in the win.

Hershey played without leading scorer Eric Fehr, recalled by the parent Washington Capitals earlier in the day.
