Kings sign Cammalleri, Hauser, Wilford

The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with restricted free-agent forward Michael Cammalleri and goaltender Adam Hauser, and a two-year contract with unrestricted free-agent defenseman Marty Wilford.

Cammalleri, 23, appeared in 79 games during the 2004-05 season with the Kings’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, recording an AHL-best 46 goals and recording 109 points, which were second most in the league. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ont., added another six points (1g, 5a) in six Calder Cup Playoff games with the Monarchs.

Cammalleri skated for the Canadian AHL All-Stars at the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic and was named an AHL Second Team All-Star at the conclusion of the season.

Originally selected by the Kings in the second round (49th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Cammalleri has 23 points (14g, 9a) and 42 penalty minutes in 59 career NHL regular season games, all with the Kings. He has added 71 goals and 97 assists for 168 points in 133 AHL contests with Manchester.

Adam Hauser has been one of the AHL’s top goalies over the past two seasons.

Hauser, 25, appeared in 32 games with the Monarchs during the 2004-05 regular season, posting a record of 19-11-0, five shutouts, a goals-against average of 1.93 and a save percentage of .933. The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Bovey, Minn., ranked third in the AHL in GAA and fourth in save percentage.

Originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round in 1999, Hauser has compiled a record of 39-26-7 with 12 shutouts over the last two seasons in Manchester. He is one of three goaltenders in AHL history (joining Alfie Moore and recent Kings signee Jason LaBarbera) to post two separate seasons with a sub-2.00 GAA.

Marty Wilford has played at least 77 games in each of his five AHL seasons.

Wilford, 28, appeared in 78 games with the Norfolk Admirals, Chicago’s AHL affiliate, during the 2004-05 regular season, registering 37 points (7g, 30a) and 80 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound native of Cobourg, Ont., also appeared in six postseason games with the Admirals, collecting four assists and 15 penalty minutes.

Wilford, originally selected by the Blackhawks in the sixth round (149th overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, has skated in 395 of a possible 400 AHL games over the last five seasons, totaling 37 goals, 167 assists and 204 points with Norfolk, Hartford, Milwaukee and St. John’s. He has added 22 points (4g, 18a) in 42 Calder Cup Playoff matches.
