The Chicago Blackhawks, parent club of the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs, have acquired the rights to defenseman Kirill Gotovets from the Tampa Bay Lightning, parent club of the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch, in exchange for forward Philippe Paradis.
Gotovets, 21, has recorded 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) and a plus-22 rating in 80 games across three seasons with Cornell University. Currently in his junior year, the Belarus native recorded a plus-1 rating in 22 games.
Tampa Bay’s seventh-round draft pick in the 2009 NHL Draft, Gotovets registered collegiate career highs in assists (seven), points (eight) and plus/minus (plus-13) during his sophomore campaign.
Paradis, 22, has tallied eight points (1g, 7a) in 36 games with the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs this season. He has posted 27 career points (7g, 20a) in 102 AHL games with Rockford and Toronto.
Paradis was a first-round selection (27th overall) by Carolina in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
