The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired goaltender Calvin Pickard from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for forward Tobias Lindberg and a sixth-round selection in the 2018 NHL Draft.
Pickard, 25, posted a 15-31-2 record with a 2.98 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage in 50 games with Colorado in 2016-17. He was selected by the Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL expansion draft on June 21.
Pickard, who has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies, has made 163 appearances in the AHL with Lake Erie and San Antonio, posting a record of 69-62-25 with a 2.65 GAA, a .914 save percentage and 11 shutouts.
The Winnipeg, Man., native, was originally selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round (49th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft. In 86 career NHL games, all with Colorado, Pickard has a record of 28-44-6 with a 2.77 GAA and a .914 save percentage.
Lindberg, 22, skated in 44 AHL games with the Marlies last season, totaling six goals and 10 assists. In 100 career AHL games with Toronto and Binghamton, Lindberg has registered 17 goals and 33 assists for 50 points along with a plus-18 rating.
The Stockholm, Sweden, native was a fourth-round draft pick by Ottawa in 2013 and has two assists in six career NHL games, all with the Maple Leafs.
