The Manchester Monarchs on Tuesday agreed to terms on one-year contracts with left wing Jeff Giuliano and right wing Dan Welch.
Giuliano, 25, was the only Monarch to appear in all 80 games last season, recording 20 points (6g, 14a) and 16 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound native of Nashua, N.H., was also honored with the Union Leader Fan Favorite Award at the close of the 2003-04 season. In 127 career AHL games, all with the Monarchs, the left winger has 35 points (10g, 25a) and 24 penalty minutes.
Welch, 23, appeared in 31 games with the Monarchs last season, recording 12 points (6g, 6a) and 18 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 199-pound native of Hastings, Minn., missed 46 games last season due to shoulder surgery. Selected by the Kings in the eighth round (245th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Welch has appeared in 73 career AHL games, all with the Monarchs, recording 24 points (9-15=24) and 40 penalty minutes.
