Oilers assign Paajarvi to Oklahoma City

The Edmonton Oilers assigned left-winger Magnus Paajarvi to the Oklahoma City Barons, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced Friday.

Paajarvi, a 6-foot-2, 204-pounder from Norrkoping, Sweden, was the Oilers’ 1st-round draft choice (10th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The 20-year-old has played in 105 games with the Oilers, scoring 37 points (15-22-37). Last season, he played 80 games with Edmonton and finished seventh on the team in scoring with 34 points (15-19-34).
