Murray had a team-leading 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) and four penalty minutes in 11 games this season with the Philadelphia Phantoms, the Flyers’ American Hockey League affiliate.
The 5-9, 180-pound native of Deloraine, Man., has 71 points (31 goals, 40 assists) and 37 penalty minutes in 242 career NHL regular-season games with the Flyers, Carolina and Calgary.
He was originally selected by Calgary in the fourth-round (96th overall) in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, and won a Calder Cup championship with Saint John in 2001.
