Rampage sign three

The San Antonio Rampage announced Monday that the club has re-signed defenseman John Lee to an AHL contract, and have inked forward Tony Turgeon and defenseman Dennis Urban to AHL contracts.

Lee, 24, returns to the Rampage for his second professional season after recording one goal and six assists in 50 games as a rookie during the 2012-13 campaign.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound defenseman played four years at the University of Denver (2008-12) and totaled eight goals and 35 assists in 162 games. A native of Moorhead, Minn., Lee was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the fifth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Turgeon, 23, enters the professional ranks after three years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he totaled six assists and 169 penalty minutes in 62 games as a defenseman.

The 6-foot-4, 228-pound forward from Grand Forks, N.D., was an invitee to the Florida Panthers development camps which took place last week.

Urban, 25, joins the Rampage after making his AHL debut with the Worcester Sharks last season, tallying four goals and 13 assists for 17 points in 36 games.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound defenseman has also played 117 career ECHL games with Reading, recording 28 goals and 54 assists. Entering his third pro season, Urban played four seasons at Robert Morris University in his native Pittsburgh, Pa., setting the school’s career scoring record for a defenseman (112 points).
