Rangers, Canadiens trade forwards

The New York Rangers have acquired forward Peter Holland from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Adam Cracknell.

Holland, 26, has skated in 20 games with the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League this season, registering eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points.

In 163 career AHL games with Laval, Toronto, Norfolk and Syracuse, Holland has collected 63 goals and 79 assists for 142 points. He also has 15 points in 11 career Calder Cup Playoff contests.

A first-round draft pick by Anaheim in 2009, Holland has appeared in 243 career NHL games with Anaheim, Toronto and Arizona, totaling 35 goals and 46 assists for 81 points.

Cracknell, 32, has two goals and one assist in 15 AHL games with the Hartford Wolf Pack this season, and has also appeared in four NHL contests with the Rangers.

In 430 career AHL games with Hartford, Springfield, Chicago, Peoria, Quad City and Omaha, Cracknell has tallied 99 goals and 124 assists for 223 points.

Drafted by Calgary in 2004, Cracknell has skated in 208 career NHL games with St. Louis, Columbus, Vancouver, Edmonton, Dallas and the Rangers, amassing 21 goals and 22 assists.
