Red Wings call on Conner

The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday recalled right wing Chris Conner from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

A native of Livonia, Mich., Conner leads the Griffins in scoring with 23 points (7g, 16a) in 20 games. The 27-year-old winger has recorded a team-high seven multi-point games this season, including four three-point games. He currently ranks sixth in overall AHL scoring.

Conner has appeared in 139 NHL games, totaling 40 points (16g, 24a). He spent the majority of the 2010-11 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, tallying 16 points (7g, 9a) in 60 regular-season contests and adding one goal in seven postseason games.
