Peoria Rivermen general manager Kevin McDonald announced today the club has signed forward Mitch Love and defenseman Adrian Veideman.
Love, 25, skated in 63 games with the Houston Aeros in 2008-09, compiling two goals and four assists. He tied for eighth in the AHL with 214 penalty minutes, including a league-leading 34 majors.
Love added one goal and 32 PIM in 16 playoff games as the Aeros advanced to the conference finals.
The Quesnel, B.C., native is entering his fifth professional season and has appeared in 218 AHL games, totaling five goals, 18 assists and 679 penalty minutes with Houston, Lake Erie, Lowell and Albany.
Veideman, 26, accounted for 27 points in 63 games as a member of the Iowa Chops during his first full season in the AHL. He was second among team defensemen in both assists (21) and points.
A rookie in 2007-08, the Sicamous, B.C., native was an ECHL All-Star for Augusta. He also played six regular-season games with the Portland Pirates (1g, 1a) as well as an additional six Calder Cup Playoff games (1a) in 2008.
Undrafted, Veideman attended the University of Denver where he won back-to-back national championships with the Pioneers.
