The Ottawa Senators, parent club of the AHL’s Binghamton Senators, announced Monday that the club has acquired defenseman Patrick Sieloff from the Calgary Flames in exchange for forward Alex Chiasson.
Sieloff, 22, made his National Hockey League debut with Calgary last season, playing one game and scoring the game-winning goal in the Flames’ 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on April 9.
In 52 games with the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat, Sieloff tallied two goals and nine assists for 11 points.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Superior, Mich., was Calgary’s second-round selection (42nd overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft. In 102 career AHL games between the Abbotsford Heat, Adirondack Flames and Stockton, he has recorded four goals and 12 assists.
Sieloff has represented the United States internationally on three occasions, winning gold at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship in Russia.
