The Binghamton Senators announced today that the club has signed forward Jason Akeson to an AHL contract.
Akeson, 26, returns to the B-Sens after playing in 17 games this year for the Kontinental Hockey League’s Vladivostok Admiral. The forward came to Binghamton in a seven-player trade between the Ottawa Senators and the Buffalo Sabres last season and scored 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) in the final 21 games of the season.
Akeson has appeared in 15 NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers and scored his only NHL goal on his first shot. In 338 AHL games with Binghamton, Rochester and Adirondack/Lehigh Valley, the sixth-year pro has totaled 94 goals and 183 assists for 277 points.
