The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the club has signed center Layne Ulmer to an American Hockey League contract for the 2005-06 season.
Ulmer, 24, recorded 37 points (7-30=37) and 23 penalty minutes in 65 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack during the 2004-05 campaign. He finished third on the team and first among Wolf Pack forwards with a plus-16 rating.
The 6-foot-1, 211-pound native of North Battleford, Sask., is entering his fifth season in the AHL. He has compiled 112 points (41-71=112) in 231 contests for his AHL career. Ulmer set career highs with 22 goals and 38 points during the 2003-04 season.
