The Minnesota Wild, parent club of the AHL’s Houston Aeros, signed defenseman Brian Connelly to a two-year, two-way deal on Friday.
Connelly, a native of Bloomington, Minn., ranked second among AHL defensemen in scoring in 2011-12, totaling six goals and 46 assists for 52 points in 72 games between Rockford and Abbotsford.
Connelly, an AHL All-Star in 2011 and 2012, has played three pro seasons after a three-year collegiate career at Colorado College. The 26-year-old blueliner has totaled 22 goals and 120 assists for 142 points in 239 AHL games.
