Norfolk adds Seeley

The Norfolk Admirals announced today that they have acquired defenseman Richard Seeley, reassigned by the NHL’s New York Islanders from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

In 47 games with Bridgeport this season, Seeley has two goals and six assists for eight points, 108 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound defensemen was serving as captain of the Sound Tigers at the time of his acquisition by Norfolk.

A native of Powell River, B.C., Seeley signed as a free agent with the New York Islanders on August 13, 2004. He has appeared in 333 AHL games with Bridgeport, Manchester and Lowell, tallying 17 goals and 50 assists for 67 points, along with 550 PIM.
