Norfolk signs Brian Lee

The Norfolk Admirals announced they have signed defenseman Brian Lee to an AHL contract.

Lee, 21, was originally selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the third round (71st overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-2, 183-pound blueliner has played for the Erie Otters (OHL) for the past five seasons, totaling 25 goals and 82 assists for 107 points and 492 penalty minutes in 319 games.

A native of Berrien Springs, Mich., Lee made his AHL debut in 2002-03, appearing in nine games with Cincinnati, recording one goal for one point and four PIM.

Last year, he appeared in nine contests with Norfolk’s ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Grrrowl. Lee registered two PIM in two regular season games before netting five points (2g, 3a) and picking up six PIM in seven playoff appearances for Greenville.
