Oilers agree to terms with Forsberg, Quine, Griffith

The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with goaltender Anton Forsberg and forward Alan Quine on one-year contracts, and with forward Seth Griffith on a two-year contract.

Forsberg played 27 games with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers last season, going 15-9-2 with a 2.95 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage. He also made three appearances with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes (1-1-0, 3.35, .897).

A Calder Cup champion in 2016 and an AHL All-Star in 2017, Forsberg has appeared in 185 regular-season games in the AHL with Charlotte, Rockford, Lake Erie/Cleveland and Springfield, posting a record of 103-59-14 with a 2.40 GAA, a .920 save percentage and nine shutouts.

He is 9-1 (1.49, .945) in 10 career postseason outings, including a perfect 9-0 record during Lake Erie’s Calder Cup championship run in 2016.

Originally selected by Columbus in the 2011 NHL Draft, Forsberg has gone 12-25-4 (3.22, .901) in 48 career NHL games with Carolina, Chicago and Columbus.

Quine tallied 14 goals and 32 assists for 46 points in 38 games with the AHL’s Stockton Heat in 2019-20, as well as one goal in nine NHL games with the Calgary Flames.

Quine, an AHL All-Star in 2016, has skated in 278 AHL games with Stockton, Bridgeport and Grand Rapids, recording 84 goals and 152 assists for 236 points.

Selected by the New York Islanders in the 2013 NHL Draft, Quine has also played 106 games in the NHL with the Islanders and Flames, registering 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points.

Griffith skated in 58 games with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose last season and led the team in both goals (21) and points (41).

In 376 regular-season games in the AHL with Manitoba, Rochcester, Toronto and Providence, Griffith has tallied 118 goals and 223 assists for 341 points. He was a First Team AHL All-Star in 2015-16.

Drafted by Boston in 2012, Griffith has notched eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 79 NHL games with Boston, Toronto, Florida and Buffalo.
