Oilers agree to terms with Moran

The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons, announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to terms with free agent center Brad Moran on a one-year contract.

Moran played the last two seasons with Skelleftea HC in the Swedish Elite League. Last year the 5-foot-11, 187-pound center scored 14 goals and 26 assists in 55 games.

A five-time 20-goal scorer in the AHL, Moran has appeared in 477 AHL games with Syracuse and Manitoba, recording 145 goals and 245 assists for 390 points. His most productive season came in 2007-08, when he led the Moose in goals (22), assists (55) and points (77).

The Abbotsford, B.C., native was originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 1998 and has played in eight career NHL games, five with the Columbus Blue Jackets and three with the Vancouver Canucks, scoring a goal and adding two assists.
