Oilers announce agreement with Iowa

The Edmonton Oilers have announced a new affiliation agreement with the American Hockey League’s Iowa Stars for the 2005-06 season.

Oilers assistant general manager Scott Howson says, “We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Dallas for the upcoming season. They are a first-class organization with a strong commitment towards development in Iowa.”

With the Edmonton Road Runners suspending operations for the 2005-06 season, the Oilers were prompted to move their AHL prospects. The Oilers are expecting to assign up to seven players to Iowa for the upcoming season.

Last month, the Oilers announced they would also be placing up to seven players with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.
