Panthers agree to terms with defensemen Cross, Prow

The Florida Panthers have agreed to terms with defensemen Tommy Cross and Ethan Prow on two-year, two-way contracts.

Cross appeared in 73 games with the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters in 2018-19, notching seven goals and 27 assists for 34 points. He added one goal and two assists in eight postseason contests.

The native of Simsbury, Conn., has skated in 437 regular-season games with Cleveland and Providence, producing 38 goals and 130 assists for 168 points with a plus-52 rating. He also has six goals and 16 assists in 51 Calder Cup Playoff games.

A second-round choice by Boston in the 2007 NHL Draft, Cross has one assist in three regular-season NHL games and one assist in one Stanley Cup Playoff game with the Bruins.

Prow, 26, was a Second Team AHL All-Star in 2018-19, when he notched 18 goals and 32 assists and led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins with 50 points and a plus-26 rating in 74 games.

Prow, who also appeared in the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic, has totaled 23 goals and 61 assists for 84 points in 178 regular-season AHL games, all with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
