Panthers, Lightning reassign AHL players

The San Antonio Rampage have received defenseman Matthew Corrente on loan from the Tampa Bay Lightning; in exchange, the Florida Panthers have loaned forward Ryan Martindale to the Syracuse Crunch.

Corrente, 26, has two goals and six assists for eight points as well as 101 penalty minutes in 48 games for Syracuse this season.

A first-round draft pick (30th overall) of the New Jersey Devils in the 2006 NHL draft, Corrente has recorded six assists in 34 NHL games, all of which were played for the Devils. He has 17 goals and 51 assists in 283 AHL contests with Lowell/Albany, Charlotte and Syracuse.

Martindale, 23, has recorded eight goals and five assists for 13 points in 45 games with San Antonio this season.

The fourth-year pro has totaled 22 goals and 31 assists for 53 points in 161 career AHL games with San Antonio and Oklahoma City. Martindale was a third-round draft pick by Edmonton in 2010.
