Panthers recall first-rounder Ellerby

roc06_200.jpgFlorida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that defenseman Keaton Ellerby has been recalled from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Ellerby, 20, receives his first career National Hockey League promotion after registering 15 points (0+15) and 30 PIM in 57 games with Rochester this season.

The Strathmore, Alberta native played in three games for Florida during training camp, before being assigned to the Americans in September.

Ellerby was drafted by Florida with their first choice (10th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The Amerks hit the ice Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and will be in action Saturday afternoon for a 1:00 p.m. matinee. Both contests will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, and AHL Live. Saturday’s game will also be broadcast live over the NHL Network.
