Panthers sign Rallo, Grumet-Morris

The Florida Panthers, parent club of the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage, announced today that the club has agreed to one-year, two-way contracts with center Greg Rallo and goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris.

“Greg and Dov were both integral parts of our organization’s success last season and we’re excited to have them back on board for next year,” said Panthers assistant general manager Michael Santos. “The experience they earned in the AHL playoffs will continue to benefit the organization.”

Rallo, 30, tied for third on San Antonio with 22 goals in 2011-12, adding 20 assists in 72 games. The Gurnee, Ill., native added two assists in four AHL playoff games with the Rampage. Rallo made his NHL debut with the Panthers on Dec. 18 vs. Carolina, a 3-2 overtime win.

Rallo has skated in 322 career AHL games with the Rampage, the Texas Stars, the Manitoba Moose, the Rockford IceHogs, the Albany River Rats and the Iowa Stars, totaling 78 goals and 85 assists for 163 points. He reached the Calder Cup Finals with the Moose in 2009 and with the Stars in 2010.

Grumet-Morris, 30, led the Rampage in wins, posting a 19-13-1 record in 2011-12. He posted a 2.33 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage in 34 games with San Antonio. The Evanston, Ill., native also posted a 2.03 GAA in two playoff games with the Rampage.

Grumet-Morris has played 83 games with six teams in the AHL, compiling a career record of 40-30-7 with eight shutouts.
