The San Jose Barracuda and Barracuda General Manager Joe Will officially announced Thursday that the team has signed forward Trevor Parkes to an AHL contract for the 2015-16 season.
The 24-year-old Parkes recorded nine points (3-6-9) and 14 penalty minutes in 20 games with the Worcester Sharks last season. Parkes finished with a plus-8 rating and fired 30 shots on goal in an injury-shortened season in Worcester.
In 136 career AHL games with Grand Rapids and Worcester, Parkes has amassed 35 points (14-21-35) and 99 penalty minutes. In addition Parkes has added 101 points (50-51-101) in 89 ECHL games with Toledo and Greenville.
Before turning pro, the six-foot-two, 200-pound native of Fort Erie, Ontario played two seasons for the Montreal Juniors of the QMJHL (2009-11) where he compiled 109 points (60-49-109) in 126 games.
