SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Belleville Senators forward Nick Paul has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 24, 2019.

Paul registered five goals – including two game-winners – and an assist for six points in three games for the streaking Senators last week.

Paul began the week with a pair of goals in a Family Day matinee vs. Laval, netting the equalizer with 2:02 remaining in regulation and the winner in overtime to give Belleville a 4-3 victory. On Friday night, he tallied an assist and then scored late in regulation again to secure a 5-3 win at Binghamton. And on Saturday in Rochester, Paul broke a 2-2 tie with two more goals as the Senators posted a 5-3 victory, their 15th consecutive game earning a standings point (11-0-0-4).

The 23-year-old Paul has totaled 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points with a plus-13 rating in 25 games with Belleville this season, his fourth pro campaign. He also has one goal and one assist in 20 appearances with Ottawa in 2018-19. A native of Mississauga, Ont., Paul has skated in 196 career AHL games with Belleville and Binghamton, recording 46 goals and 60 assists for 106 points, and has added four goals and four assists in 56 career NHL contests. Originally selected by Dallas in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Draft, Paul was acquired by the Senators organization on July 1, 2014, in a trade with the Stars.

In recognition of being named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week, Paul will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Senators home game.
