The Penguins, who finished with the best regular-season record in the AHL in 2010-11, lost the first two games of their division semifinal to the Norfolk Admirals before winning four straight. The Checkers eliminated the two-time defending Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears with an overtime victory in Game 6 on Sunday evening.
