Penguins re-sign Trotman, Czuczman

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed defensemen Zach Trotman and Kevin Czuczman to two-year, two-way contracts.

Trotman, 28, recorded one goal and four assists in 24 AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2018-19, and added one assist in 13 NHL games with Pittsburgh.

A native of Carmel, Ind., Trotman has appeared in 232 career AHL contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Ontario and Providence, totaling 21 goals and 59 assists for 80 points along with a plus-28 rating.

Trotman was a seventh-round choice by Boston in the 2010 NHL Draft, and has produced three goals and 10 assists in 83 career NHL games with the Penguins and Bruins.

Czuczman, 28, will also enter his third season in the Penguins organization in 2019-20. He recorded four goals and 17 assists for 21 points in 65 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2018-19.

In five AHL campaigns, Czuczman has notched 22 goals and 88 assists for 110 points in 336 AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Manitoba and Bridgeport. He made his NHL debut with the New York Islanders in 2014 following his junior season at Lake Superior State University and notched two assists in 13 games.
