Pens avoid sweep, down Bears in OT

Kurtis McLean netted two power-play goals, including the game winner 35 seconds into the overtime session to help Wilkes-Barre avoid a four-game sweep by Hershey with a 3-2 win at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza on Wednesday.

Nolan Schaefer stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Pens, who stopped a seven-game losing streak to Hershey in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Ryan Stone provided the other goal while Kyle Brodziak recorded two assists on the night for the Pens, who trail the defending champs by a 3 games to 1 deficit.

Three of the four games in the series thus far have been decided by one goal, with two going past regulation.

Jakub Klepis and Matt Hendricks each tallied a goal and an assist for the Bears, who will try to finish off Wilkes-Barre again in Game 5 on Friday at Giant Center.
