Giroux, 20, was a first-round draft pick (22nd overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2006 and currently leads all AHL rookies with 29 points (15-14-29) in 29 games this season.
He has also gone scoreless in two NHL games with the Flyers in 2008-09.
