Power play goals spark Aeros over Chops, 3-1


HOUSTON 3, IOWA 1

Houston tallied three power play goals on its way to a 3-1 home-ice win over Iowa on Tuesday night at the Toyota Center. Maxim Noreau, Morten Madsen, and John Lammers scored for the Aeros, who snapped a three-game losing skid.

The win brought Houston into a three-way tie with Iowa and Chicago for second place in the West Division, with each team showing 10 points.

Noreau put Houston on top at 5:18 of the opening period, but Chops forward Bobby Ryan tallied the equalizer at the 17:12 mark.

Madsen and Lammers then scored second-period goals just 1:41 apart for the Aeros, and neither side scored in the third period.

Noreau, Madsen, and Lammers each finished with a goal and a helper in the victory, and goaltender Nolan Schaefer stopped 21 shots in net. Houston finished 3-for-10 on the power play.
