The Nashville Predators have signed forward Colin Blackwell to a two-year, two-way contract.

Blackwell notched 17 goals and 28 assists for 45 points to go with a plus-15 rating in 61 games with the AHL’s Rochester Americans last season, placing second on the team in goals, assists, points and plus/minus.

The 25-year-old native of Lawrence, Mass., made his pro debut in 2016-17 with the San Jose Barracuda, recording four goals and seven assists in 57 regular-season games before helping the team reach the Western Conference Finals with three goals in 15 playoff contests.

Originally chosen by the San Jose Sharks in the seventh round of the 2011 NHL Draft, Blackwell played four seasons at Harvard University.
