Rampage blank Marlies, force Game 7

Josh Tordjman made 38 saves for his first career playoff shutout as San Antonio posted a 3-0 road victory over Toronto in Game 6 of their North Division semifinal series on Sunday at Ricoh Coliseum.

Chad Kolarik and Dylan Reese each had a goal and a helper for the Rampage, who evened the series at three games apiece. Game 7 is on Monday in Toronto.

Kolarik opened the game’s scoring at 5:26 of the first period, and Reese made it a 2-0 at 16:40.

After a scoreless second period, San Antonio defenseman Brendan Bell netted a power play goal at 9:44 of the third, extending the advantage to 3-0.

The Rampage and Marlies will both enter Monday’s winner-take-all match-up seeking their first-ever Calder Cup Playoff series victory.


PROVIDENCE 7, PORTLAND 1
Martins Karsums tallied a hat trick and Petteri Nokelainen added a pair of goals as Providence cruised past Portland, 7-1, on Sunday at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

The P-Bruins improved to 6-0 in the playoffs and took a 2-0 lead on the Pirates in the Atlantic Division finals.

Karsums scored once in the first period and twice in the third for Providence, and Nokelainen netted both of his markers in the third as Providence scored four times in the stanza.

T.J. Trevelyan and Byron Bitz also lit the lamp for the Bruins. Pascal Pelletier chipped in a trio of assists, while Matt Lashoff and Matt Hunwick added a pair of helpers apiece.

Andrew Ebbett notched the Pirates’ first goal of the series at 7:22 of the third period.

After four days off, the series shifts to Portland for Game 3 on Friday and Game 4 next Sunday.
