Rampage sign Trevor Smith to AHL deal

The San Antonio Rampage today announced that center Trevor Smith has been signed to an American Hockey League contract.

Smith tallied 17 goals and 26 assists for 43 points in 66 games with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals in 2017-18. He served as the Admirals’ team captain the last two years.

A native of Ottawa, Ont., Smith enters his 12th professional season with 184 goals and 254 assists for 438 points in 593 regular-season games in the AHL with Milwaukee, Toronto, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Norfolk, Syracuse, Springfield and Bridgeport. He has recorded six 20-goal seasons in the AHL and participated in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2012.

Smith has added 15 goals and 33 assists for 48 points in 60 postseason games in the AHL, winning a Calder Cup championship with Norfolk in 2011-12.

Smith has also appeared in 107 NHL games with Nashville, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and the N.Y. Islanders, registering nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points.
