Reign, Sutter agree to terms

The Ontario Reign have agreed to terms with veteran forward Brett Sutter.

Sutter, 29, enters his 10th professional season and first full year with the Reign after joining the team from the Minnesota Wild organization following a Feb. 29 trade.

In 74 AHL games between Ontario and Iowa in 2015-16, Sutter totaled nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points. He added one assist in five Calder Cup Playoff games.

Sutter has played 612 regular-season games over nine AHL seasons with Ontario, Iowa, Charlotte, Abbotsford and Quad City, recording 100 goals and 151 assists for 251 points. He also has two goals and eight assists in 60 NHL games with Minnesota, Carolina and Calgary.

A native of Viking, Alta., Sutter is the son of Los Angeles Kings head coach Darryl Sutter.
