Sabres sign Dalpe to one-year deal

The Buffalo Sabres, parent club of the AHL’s Rochester Americans, announced that the team has signed forward Zac Dalpe to a one-year contract.

Dalpe, 24, played a career-high 55 NHL games as a member of the Vancouver Canucks during the 2013-14 season, recording four goals and three assists. He also appeared in six AHL games with Utica last season, tallying three assists.

A former second-round draft pick (45th overall by Carolina in 2008), Dalpe has appeared in a total of 96 NHL games with Vancouver and Carolina, totaling nine goals and eight assists for 17 points.

Dalpe, a native of Paris, Ont., earned AHL All-Rookie honors in 2010-11 and has skated in 186 AHL games with Utica, Charlotte and Albany, notching 68 goals and 74 assists for 142 points. He has added nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points in 29 Calder Cup Playoff contests.
