Santorelli recalled by Nashville

mil_200.jpgNashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Mike Santorelli from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Santorelli, who leads the Admirals and ranks 11th in the AHL in scoring with 70 points (27g-43a) in 67 games, posted a hat trick in Milwaukee’s 5-2 win over Chicago last night. The win clinched the AHL West Division title for the Admirals and secured them home-ice advantage for the first two rounds of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Santorelli, a sixth-round choice (178th overall) of Nashville in 2004, made his NHL debut on January 8 vs. Pittsburgh after being recalled to Nashville earlier that day. He appeared in five games with Nashville before being reassigned to Milwaukee on January 17.

The Vancouver, B.C. native, who was selected to play for Team Canada at the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic, was selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Month for December after notching 23 points (8g-15a) in 14 games, and helping the team to a record-tying 12 wins in the month.
