Scott stops 48 in Rampage win

Travis Scott turned aside 48 shots to preserve San Antonio’s 3-2 victory over Norfolk at the SBC Center on Sunday evening.

Joel Kwiatkowski, Greg Campbell and Stephen Weiss gave the Rampage a 3-0 lead, and Scott did the rest, stopping all 33 shots he faced through two periods and 15 of 17 in the third, with the Admirals threatening to tie.

Rene Bourque scored both Norfolk goals, spoiling Scott’s shutout bid with 6:26 left in regulation, then adding a shorthanded marker with 1:41 remaining.

Scott, who led the AHL in saves during the 2003-04 season, improved to 7-8-3 with the win.

Norfolk finished with a 50-21 edge in shots, but fell to 0-2-0-1 on its four-game Texas road trip. The teams meet again on Tuesday.
