The Ottawa Senators have acquired defenseman Erik Brannstrom, forward Oscar Lindberg and a 2020 second-round draft choice from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for forwards Mark Stone and Tobias Lindberg.

Brannstrom will be assigned to the Senators’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Belleville Senators.

Brannstrom, an AHL All-Star as a 19-year-old with the Chicago Wolves this season, has recorded seven goals and 21 assists for 28 points in 41 contests. He ranks fourth among all AHL rookie defensemen in scoring in 2018-19.

He also captained Sweden at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Brannstrom was a first-round selection by Vegas (15th overall) at the 2017 NHL Draft.

Tobias Lindberg, 23, has registered five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 44 AHL games between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Belleville this season.

In 208 career AHL games with Wilkes-Barre, Belleville, Chicago, Toronto and Binghamton, Lindberg has amassed 32 goals and 53 assists for 85 points.

A fourth-round pick by Ottawa in 2013, Lindberg has picked up two assists in six career NHL games, all with Toronto.
