Senators, Avalanche trade AHL forwards

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired forward Max McCormick from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward J.C. Beaudin.

McCormick, 26, has recorded seven goals and five assists for 12 points in 20 games with the AHL’s Belleville Senators this season, as well as one goal in 14 outings with Ottawa.

A fifth-year pro from De Pere, Wis., McCormick has skated in 254 AHL contests with Belleville and Binghamton, registering 61 goals and 64 assists for 125 points. He was selected by Ottawa in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Draft and has also collected six goals and four assists in 71 career NHL games with the Senators.

Beaudin, 21, has tallied six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 42 AHL games with the Colorado Eagles this season.

A second-year pro, Beaudin skated in 34 AHL games with San Antonio as a rookie in 2017-18, collecting two goals and five assists.

The native of St. Bruno de Montarville, Que., was a third-round pick by Colorado in the 2015 NHL Draft.
