Senators host River Rats in annual Thanksgiving tilt

A tradition in Broome County continues at 6:05 ET this evening when the Binghamton Senators take the Veterans Memorial Arena ice on Thanksgiving Day.

This year’s opponent is the in-state rival Albany River Rats, whom the Senators defeated in overtime by a 4-3 final in their first meeting of the season. You can catch all of tonight’s action from the comfort of your computer with AHL Live.

Binghamton rookie Zack Smith netted a pair of goals in the teams’ first meeting on Oct. 22 in Albany, including the game-winner in overtime.

Derek Smith also scored for the Senators, and goaltender Brian Elliott picked up the win with 23 saves.

Mark Flood posted a goal and an assist for the River Rats in that game, while Mike Angelidis and Nicolas Blanchard also tallied goals. Casey Borer chipped in with a pair of assists in the overtime loss.
